With all major news papers in decline with major layoffs, massive dept, and a Big-Time carbon footprint, it is time for print news to die.
When Sarah Palin was asked what papers she read to keep informed, I was shocked by the question more than her answer. If you want to be informed don't wait for the old news in the paper. I consider myself to be very informed and I do not read any paper. I receive my info from the net and talk radio. The print news had better join the electronic age.
Now for the carbon footprint. I delivered my local paper for 4 years in my youth, 152 custumers on a bike. Today almost every paper is delivered by a car or truck. Every paper is delivered to the carriers by truck. The refinement and use of virgin and recycled paper. The cut of trees. The many papers that end up in the landfill. All of this requires energy. All of which produces a massive carbon footprint. All of which could be stopped by the print news going electronic and stopping the print.
So even though I do not believe in man-made global warming, those of you who do should demand the end of print news.
